Learning Made Easy at EHE Spanish School

Salsa-colombia-spanish

I have travelled to Colombia from my country Ghana in Africa. I have been living here for two months now. I am a proud student at the EHE Spanish School in Socorro, Santander.  I can happily say that my Spanish has made a great improvement.

At EHE, you not only get Spanish lessons by native and experienced Spanish speakers. You also get to practice with the locals because Socorro is a warm and inviting community. The professors at the school really go above and beyond to ensure you’re not only learning but enjoying your time in Socorro too.

Cristian, the Director of EHE Spanish School, has organised dance classes every week for us. We meet our dance teacher, Ivan, every Friday and we have the opportunity to learn a range of different styles of dances like Salsa, Merengue, and Bachata. You may have heard about these dances, but I must say that Colombians are the best! I am so lucky to be here.

You may have heard about these dances, but I must say that Colombians are the best!

On Saturday night I was able to put my dance moves into practice. I went to a local discoteca (night club) and a Colombiana asked me to dance! With all the new moves I learned from classes I was able to enjoy myself much more and just dance the night away to the great Latin music of Colombia.

From living in Colombia, I have really come to understand the deep culture within the Colombian dance and music. It’s so great to see people to coming together in harmony to enjoy their time dancing and spending time with one another to celebrate the weekend. The people are able to express their happiness and culture through the art of dancing and singing and I think that it’s really special.

In Ghana, we have traditional dances that are for a range of different occasions. Each ethnic group has their own traditional dances, with specific dances for different occasions. It’s really cool to be able to experience the different ways different cultures utilize dance to express themselves.

To Learn Spanish in Colombia is a great experience.
